Drivers CPC (Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence)
Driver CPC was introduced for all professional drivers, such as bus, coach or lorry drivers, by the European Union to maintain the standards of drivers and improve road safety. You will normally need Drivers CPC if you intend to drive commercially or if you are under 21 years old. You will need to do either Initial or Periodic CPC depending on when you passed your tests (see below). You must have the relevant provisional licence before you can take the Initial CPC tests. Initial CPC qualification.
This is for Lorry drivers who passed their car test after 1st January 1997 and have not taken any kind of lorry test before 10th September 2009.
Also this is for Bus drivers who passed their car test after 1st January 1997 and have not taken any kind of bus test before 10th September 2008.
All other drivers will need to do Periodic CPC Training instead.
Our CPC initial package consists of:
Online CPC Module 2 Case Study training and theory test and also the CPC Module 4 Practical CPC training and practical test and can be booked online.
Periodic CPC Training
All Bus and Lorry drivers must complete 35 hours approved CPC Periodic training on a 5 year rolling cycle.
If you have taken the Initial CPC then you will be covered for 5 years from the date you passed it, then you will need to start the 35 hours rolling cycle. The training can be done as an intensive 5 day course or can be split into 5 x 7 hour courses, with a choice of topics.
Customers would usually join a planned session at one of our many training venues but if you have 10 or more drivers we may be able to come to you!
