Got your sights set on driving a Light Goods Vehicle (LGV) between 3,500kg and 7,500kg? Then this is the course for you!

Our C1/C1+E courses include everything you need to get  started in an LGV. Also known as a 7.5 tonner or Class 3, these vehicles can be used for local supermarket deliveries, removals, medical emergencies and more. You could also add on a trailer up to 750kg.

If you gained your car licence before January 1997, you will already have this entitlement on your licence. But if not, then you’ll need to undertake additional training.

What is the difference between C1 and C1+E?

C1 covers medium-sized vehicles with a trailer up to 750kg. C1+E covers heavier trailers, subject to a combined maximum authorised mass of 12 tonnes and any licence restrictions.

Do I already have C1 on my licence?

Some drivers have existing entitlement. Check your current licence categories, expiry dates and restriction codes before choosing a course.

Can this help me drive an ambulance or motorhome?

It may be relevant where the vehicle falls within the C1 category. Employer requirements, vehicle weights and intended use matter, so tell us the exact vehicle and purpose.
